Antiques Roadshow expert Paul Atterbury will be in Sidmouth tomorrow talking about the history of the south west's railways.

The illustrated talk will feature iconic railway posters, memories and an appearance from the Sidmouth Ukulele Band.

Paul Atterbury's talk will feature information from his new book Speed To The West.

The book, written by Paul and Richard Furness, features some of the best railway posters used to promote the romance of holiday travel to the West Country.

It also covers the general history of holiday express train development, including a detailed history of the Atlantic Coast Express and Cornish Riviera Express.

Michael Palin reviewed the book, he said: "A marvellous series, and lovingly compiled books."

The talk will take place at All Saints Church in Sidmouth on Friday, November 15. Doors open at 6.30pm and the talk starts at 7pm.

Tickets cost £15 per person and include a glass of wine and refreshments. Tickets can be bought from Paragon Books in Sidmouth High Street.
