East Devon's General Election candidates

The public have until midnight on Tuesday, November 26, to register to vote.

Residents in East Devon will go to the polls on Thursday, December 12, for a General Election.

The House of Commons last week voted by 438 to 20 at third reading to approve the one-page Bill enabling the election to be held on December 12.

Candidates have until Thursday, November 14, at 4pm, to submit their nominations, with a list of nominated candidates to be published by 5pm that day if there are no objections, and by 4pm the following day if there are some.

The public have until midnight on Tuesday, November 26, to register to vote.

So far, several candidates have publicly announced their intention to stand in the election:

Green Party – Henry Gent

Conservatives – Simon Jupp

Liberal Democrats – Eleanor Rylance

Labour – Dan Wilson

Independent – Claire Wright
