Fire in the Open Small at Sidbury Hill, Sidbury

One fire appliance from Sidmouth was mobilised following a report to a report of a large fire in the distance at the above location.
On arrival at the scene crew confirmed a large unattended bonfire and gained access to a fire to prevent escalation.
Update 20:21
Crew are dealing with a large bonfire approximately 40 metres by 10 metres consisting of unburnt wood and rubbish, crews are using compressed air foam to knock back flames and smouldering to prevent escalation due to a large thatched property in close proximity.

Crew have requested the attendance of an addition appliance for manpower and water along with the telehandler, one appliance from Honiton and the telehandler from Urban Search and Rescue Station based a Devon and Somerset Fire Headquarters at Clyst St George were mobilised.

Crew are making steady progress damping down and awaiting the arrival of the telehandler.
