Police are appealing for information following two burglaries of homes in Sidmouth.

Both properties, located off Sidford Road, were targeted between Tuesday 10 September and Thursday 19 September.

A statement issued by Devon and Cornwall Police read: "Entry was forced into the addresses and numerous items of silverware, jewellery and cash were stolen.

"The residents of both dwellings were away on holiday at the time of the burglaries."

Police are warning the community to be cautious when leaving valuables in properties if they are likely to be left unoccupied for extended periods of time.

Detective Constable Lee Perry, of Honiton CID, said: "Anyone with information which could assist with this investigation is asked to email [email protected] or call 101, quoting crime reference number CR/085260/19."
