The emergency services attended an incident in Sidmouth yesterday (Sunday 28 November) at around 3pm after a young boy fell from the esplanade onto the beach.

Beer Coastguard, the South Western Ambulance Service, and Devon Air Ambulance were at the scene.

The boy was put on a stretcher and taken to hospital by land ambulance.

A spokesperson for Beer Coastguard said on social media: "We assisted on the beach before they were stretchered to the land ambulance for the onward journey to hospital.

"We then secured the landing site allowing the air ambulance to take off.

"We wish them a speedy recovery."
