Sidmouth Lions Club has made a donation of £1,000 to Exeter-based charity Hospiscare.

The club was able to improve its finances by resuming its traditional Santa visits in and around the Sid Valley in December 2021.

After hearing about Hospiscare's emergency appeal for funds, club members 'happily' approved the £1,000 donation.

Three quarters of the money will go to the charity's main care services centre at Searle House in Dryden Road, Exeter, and the remainder to the Honiton-based East Devon Clinical Specialist Team.

The cheque presentation on 31 January was made by Lion Vice President Mark Laurenti accompanied by Lions Mike, Ian, Phil and Jeff with East Devon Hospiscare Fundrasier Toni Hiscocks at Searle House.

You can raise fundraise by joining the Hospiscare Men's Walk 2022, or if you have an idea of how to raise money, such as holding a prosecco/afternoon tea event, coffee morning, opening your garden with our successful Open Garden Campaign, or being a local business with a collection tin, you can call Toni Hiscocks on 07921 845615 or email [email protected].
