Two men found dead in East Devon in less than 24 hours

Two men have been found dead after being reported missing in East Devon in less than 24 hours.

Police have not linked the two deaths and neither of the deaths are being treated as suspicious.

The first man to be found is believed to be 60-year-old Sidmouth man
Trevor Stevens.

A search was launched for Trevor after he was reported missing from his home in the town on Tuesday, May 19.

A coastguard team located a body near Peak Hill cliffs, Sidmouth, on Wednesday, May 20.

Formal identification has yet to take place but the family of Trevor Stevens has been made aware.

Police are not treating the death as suspicious and a file is being prepared for the coroner.

The second man, 43-year-old Bruce Bower from Budleigh Salterton, was reported missing after leaving his home address in Budleigh Salterton at around 11am on Wednesday, May 20.

The body was located in an area of countryside near to the town at around 11.20pm on Wednesday, May 20.

The family of Mr Bower have been informed of the discovery. The death is not being treated as suspicious and a file is being prepared for the coroner.
