Sidmouth Job of the Week: General Site Operative with Melhuish and Saunders

Building contractors Melhuish and Saunders are currently recruiting for a General Site Operative to work on a short-term contract in Sidmouth.

The contract would last a minimum of nine to 12 months and would be ideal for someone looking to gain experience in construction.

General Site Operative 

This role offers an opportunity to work within all areas of construction. You will gain "valuable, wide-ranging experience" and achieve understanding and knowledge of the industry and how it works. 

According to the contractors, previous successful applicants have been known to progress further and with training qualify as tradesmen, site managers and quantity surveyors.

Salary: £8-£10.50 per hour;

Hours: Full time, 40 per week;

Location: Sidmouth;

Experience: Desirable but not essential.

Skills required include physical fitness, good practical ability, comfort working at heights, and being able to work in a team.

Common tasks will include form-working, steel-fixing and bar-bending, concreting and more. A valid UK driver's licence is preferred.
