'Superheroes' was the theme of Red Nose Day at Doveleigh Care's residential homes in Sidmouth and Seaton. Staff and residents entered into the spirit of the fundraising day for Comic Relief on Friday, March 19, and raised at least £40.

Samantha Evens, Senior Manager of Doveleigh Care, which runs Arcot House in Sidmouth and Dove Court in Seaton, said: "All three homes took part in raising funds for Red Nose Day. They like being part of charity events as it gives them a sense of purpose and they feel they are contributing to a meaningful cause.

"Arcot House and Dove Court thought the theme Superheroes was an appropriate theme this year - with the pandemic it proved even more so.

"Our staff are superheroes as well as our residents. It has been a really tough year, but we have got through it by supporting one another.

"Both residents and staff had great fun making their own superhero masks and wearing red noses. We even got the Director, Mr Keith Mills, joining in. The cooks made some delicious personalised Red Nose Day cakes. The staff and residents were acting out superhero moves and there was lots of laughter and smiles all around."
