Award-winning Sidmouth ice-cream parlour trials delivery service

By Hannah Corfield 14th May 2020

Locally-sourced, homemade ice-creams in a range of mouth watering flavours are now being delivered to homes in the Sidmouth area courtesy of a popular, family-run business.

Taste of Sidmouth, which has been shut due to the coronavirus crisis have set up an ice-cream delivery service adapted to comply with Government guidelines.

Stacey Vicary told Sidmouth Nub News: "We've been inundated with calls so-far and are really touched by the great response.

"The milk we are using to make the ice-cream comes from local farms who are struggling with a surplus of milk at the moment, so it's nice to be able to help out there.

"There's just a few of us involved, who have lost our jobs elsewhere and haven't been furloughed, so it's created a wonderful opportunity.

"This would normally be the busiest time of year for Taste, but doing this helps to keep things moving in the right direction for when we can reopen the shop.

"When we had to close we donated all of our produce to local care homes and key workers in Sidmouth, which meant nothing went to waste and we were able to support the community."

For information on how you can have freshly-made local ice-cream delivered to your door, check out the Taste of Sidmouth Facebook page or call Stacey on 07725882114.
