Death not being treated as suspicious
Police were called to Harpford, near Sidmouth at 3.20pm on Tuesday 11 December after a member of the public reported sightings of a body being seen in the river.Emergency services including, ambulance and fire service attended the area and the body of a man was located nearby in the water at around 5pm and recovered.
The man, in his 80s, from the Sidmouth area was pronounced deceased at the scene.Formal identification has yet to have taken place but next of kin have been informed.
This death is not currently being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.
