Environmental group Sidmouth Plastic Warriors is appealing for the help of Sidmouth residents to take responsibility for a small patch of land in the town to help keep it clean and tidy.

Sidmouth Plastic Warrior and councillor Denise Bickley took to social media today to encourage people to join the scheme and to help keep the scheme's interactive map up to date.

"Hi, doing a bit of a tidy up on the Adopt A Spot map ready for anyone whose New Year's Resolution might be to get stuck in with tidying up a bit," said Denise.

"So, if anyone is on the map but isn't doing their bit any more (no judgement, just want the map up to date!) let me know.

"If anyone does somewhere but is not on the map let me know. If anyone sees anywhere that they can't do but that needs doing let me know.

"If anyone wants a litter picker to do this better, let me know!"

Sidmouth Plastic Warriors set up the Adopt A Spot scheme in 2018, with the simple idea of encouraging residents to take ownership of their local area by tidying it up.

Speaking at the time Denise said: "Together we can cover the whole town and surrounding area and make it as beautiful and healthy as it deserves to be. I firmly believe that litter breeds litter, let's see if that's right."
