A community kitchen based at the rugby club in Honiton is said to be 'overwhelmed' by the generosity of people and businesses, after receiving a delivery from Waitrose Sidmouth yesterday (April 8).

The upmarket supermarket chain are the latest to donate a substantial quantity of produce, which will be cooked-up by Cathy McCollum and her team at The Random Kitchen.

Thanks to Community Champion of Waitrose Sidmouth, Julie Marish, the store has offered three cages of food and has already delivered the first lot.

Councillor Tony McCollum said: "It's overwhelming the generosity of supermarkets, such as Waitrose Sidmouth.

"Without them, and others, we would struggle to provide our much needed services on the ground."

TRIP Deputy Manager, Sharon Thorne, was also humbled by the Easter gifts to be shared amongst the hardworking volunteers.

She said: "A big thank you to Waitrose Sidmouth for their generosity and for helping to provide for those who are really need it at this difficult time."
