East Devon District Council is seeking an operator to hire out its stock of 100 deckchairs.

A seasonal concession to hire out the deckchairs on the Esplanade, at Jacob's Ladder and at Connaught Gardens in Sidmouth between 9am and sunset from 1 April and 30 September is on offer for 2022 and 2023.

The licensee should make sure the deckchairs are available for hire for a 'reasonable' price each day of the season, except for example in bad weather. They should also make them available for Sunday evening band concerts in Connaught Gardens.

The condition of the deckchairs must be maintained at damaged or lost chairs repaired or replaced at the end of each season.

Offers should be made by Monday 8 August, and be submitted by email to [email protected] or by post to Property and Estates, East Devon District Council, Blackdown House, Border Road, Heathpark Industrial Estate, Honiton, EX14 1EJ.
