Sidmouth Town Council has decided to splash some cash on three new public toilets on Sidmouth Esplanade.

The plans, which have been in the pipeline since October 2019, to build three new public toilets in the Seafront Amenity Building at a cost of roughly £14,000 have been approved by Sidmouth Town Council.

The cost of the new loos will come out of the council's Community Infrastructure Levy reserve, £7,497, and from earmarked reserves, £6,502.

The Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) is a charge that local councils can charge developers in order to raise funds to help fund infrastructure, facilities and services - such as schools or transport improvements - needed to support new homes and businesses.

At the moment the nearest public toilets in that part of Sidmouth are at the Three Cornered Plot.
