Councillor flags up closure of footbridge

The Millford Road footbridge in Sidmouth will be closed next Wednesday, January 20.

Sidmouth councillor Stuart Hughes, who's also the county council's cabinet member for highways, said the one-day closure is needed so that part of the bridge's timber structure can be inspected.

The decking will be lifted to allow the inspection to take place.

Cllr Hughes said a diversion will be signposted by Devon County Highways.
