Dog dies after falling from cliffs near Beer

A dog has died after falling from cliffs near Beer this morning.

The incident took place at around 9.30am today at Hooken Cliffs.

The dog's owner called HM Coastguard after the dog fell from the cliff edge near the South West Coast Path.

Beer Coastguard Rescue Team and Lyme Regis Coastguard Rescue Team were called in to recover the dog which had sadly died from its injuries.

The dog's owner was unharmed in the incident and the dog's remains were returned to the owner.

A spokesperson for HM Coastguard told Nub News: "Please keep your dogs away from the cliff edge while enjoying the South West Coast Path. HM Coastguard would like to extend our condolences to the dog's owner and family after this very sad incident."
