A driver thought to have suffered a "medical episode" behind the wheel in Ottery St Mary was taken to hospital on Saturday (25 February).

Police were called to the incident on Mill Street, which involved only one vehicle, at around 10.30am.

The road was reopened around one hour later.

A Devon and Cornwall Police spokesperson said: "Police were called at around 10.30am on 25 February to Mill Street, Ottery St Mary, following reports of a single-vehicle collision.

"It is thought that the driver may have suffered a medical episode at the wheel and was taken to hospital by ambulance.

"The road was closed whilst emergency services responded and reopened at around 11.30am."
