Mobile network EE has officially apologised after 'essential maintenance work' caused a signal outage for some customers in Sidmouth.

Many EE customers in Sidmouth were left with no signal on Wednesday, July 31, with unconfirmed reports of Three customers also suffering with signal problems.

Some Sidmouth customers took to social media to complain about the outage and the estimated 16 hours of repairs necessary, according to EE's signal checker service, to get the local network back up and running.

An EE spokesperson said: "We'd like to apologise to our customers for the inconvenience caused while we carried out essential maintenance work on a mast in the Sidmouth area. All works have now been completed and full service has been restored."

Service was restored within the 16 hour time frame and customers are now back to receiving a full service.
