Every week Sidmouth Nub News highlights an Event of the Week – something happening in the next few days that you might like to go to.

There are also event listings in the What's On section of the site – and anyone can add their own events, free of charge.

So if you're organising a pub quiz, a walk, an exhibition, a sporting fixture or a live gig (when restrictions allow) or anything you'd like to promote, just go to the What's On section and hit Nub It.

This week's Event of the Week is a guided walk of Eastern Town, organised by the Sid Vale Association, on Thursday, June 17.

The SVA hosts weekly Town Walks during the season, and these have now started up for this year.

During this Eastern Town walk you'll learn about the history behind the buildings, gardens and open spaces, and the growth of Sidmouth from a fishing village, through the Regency and Victorian periods, to the present day.

It covers Blackmore Gardens and tunnels, the poorhouse and jail, Elysian Fields and 'a hospital in a cottage'.

The walk starts at 10.30am and lasts about two hours. All walks depart from and return to the museum and no booking is needed. The cost is £2.50 per person – or free to SVA members and under 16s.
