Father and son team complete coast to coast challenge to raise money for charity

By Hannah Corfield 12th Jul 2019

Freddie Argent-Wenz, a student at The Kings's School in Ottery St Mary, has teamed up with his dad, Rob, to walk 117 miles of the Two Moors Way to raise money for the Goodwill Children's Charity.

The challenge is to hike, coast to coast, across the wilds of Dartmoor and Exmoor, carrying full-kit and wild camping wherever possible.

They are currently on their sixth, and final day today (July 12) - despite the guidebooks' suggestion of 7-12 days for this route!

They have already raised around £900, partly through their fundraising page (see the red button below) and are appealing for help to raise this figure.

All donations will go directly to help orphaned and destitute children from disadvantaged tribal areas in India.

Rob Argent said: "The King's School has supported the Goodwill Children's Charity for five years, visiting their children's home in Thandigudi every year to volunteer.

"The students and staff always work hard to raise money for the charity and we wanted to do something this year to help.

"Please sponsor us to help support this amazing charity."

For more than 40 years the Goodwill Children's Homes have provided a loving home and access to quality education to children from disadvantaged tribal areas in Tamil Nadu, India.

The charity ensures long-term care and education to children from very poor backgrounds who are often orphaned at a young age; many have no one to look after them and the support provided by Goodwill allows them the opportunity for a brighter future.
