A Sidmouth woman is looking for people interested in taking part in a 'flash mob' event.
The flash mob event, a large public gathering at which people perform an unusual or seemingly random act and then disperse, will take place in Sidmouth in Easter 2020.
Organiser Jay Bowden is hoping to sign on some recruits in preparation for the event, which will be in aid of the British Heart Foundation and Cancer Research.
"My sons have taken part in and organised a number of charity events in the past but I didn't really have much interaction with them," said Jay.
"This summer my oldest son, with my help, raised just under £3,000 to help Sidmouth's lifeguards pay for first-aid equipment.
"It was a very tiring experience but when it was all over we felt a great sense of euphoria. Recently we were reminded of an idea we had for a flash mob and I've given myself six months to organise something.
"I'm not doing this as a publicity stunt, this is about raising money for two charities close to my heart and also to get the community together for some fun."
The flash mob event will take place in Market Square at Easter next year.
So far most of the people coming forward have been ladies so Jay would like to encourage any of our male readers to sign up to take part. Jay is also appealing for a venue to host dance tuition classes in the run up to the event.
Jay added: "Come and have some fun while doing something meaningful. Try something unusual and join us in raising money for two very special charities, it will bring Sidmouth to life."
Around 30 people are needed of all ages and genders to 'recreate a flash mob dance'.
Jay would also like to hear from anyone with dance experience to help train those taking part.
