The full programme for Sidmouth Folk Festival has now been made available to the public.

The festival week will take place from Friday 29 July to Friday 5 August, with some pre-festival events on Thursday 28 July.

The event is returning for its 68th year running in 2022, with last year's scaled-down event due to Covid restrictions described as a 'rip-roaring sell-out success'. The event was held online in 2020.

Highlights

Headline acts feature big names in the folk genre, including Kate Rusby, Eddi Reader, Show of Hands, The Spooky Men's Chorale, Spiers and Boden, Jez Lowe and Granny's Attic, and the Yves Lambert Trio.

There will be special pre-festival shows with Steeleye Span and The Fisherman's Friends, and the Bulverton marquee will return for ceilidhs, evening shows, and refreshments.

The Sidmouth Steppers will informally open the festivities at 7.30pm in Market Square on Thursday 28 July alongside Great Western Morris, Sidmouth Traditional Mummers and Mrs Midnight's.

There will also be workshops on offer in choral singing and fiddle playing, together with the Children's Festival, the Youth Festival, Morris Dance displays and dance sessions in Blackmore Gardens.
