HM Coastguard helps treat 'bad' head injury of person who slipped on Sidmouth beach rock groyne

The HM Coastguard Beer Rescue Team helped someone who had slipped on a rock groyne on Sidmouth beach and sustained a head injury on Sunday (26 June).

The incident took place just after 11pm. The coastguard team treated the injury and the individual was taken to hospital by ambulance.

An HM Coastguard spokesperson said: "Member of the public had slipped on a rock groyne and sustained a bad head injury, team members were soon on scene and started to treat the injury.

"The ambulance arrived on scene and continued the treatment while en route to hospital."
