Holidaymaker's car broken into near Sidmouth on last day of holiday
A holidaymaker is appealing for help after her car was broken into on the last day of her holiday.
On Sunday (August 18) at around 2pm Justine Spencer, 49, and her partner parked on Salcombe Hill on the Salcombe Regis to Sidmouth Road.
They then went for roughly an hour's walk along the National Trust's Salcombe Hill walking trail.
When Justine, who was holidaying near Exmouth, returned to her car she found the back window had been smashed and her handbag, containing her purse, had been taken.
Justine, who lives in Oxfordshire, said: "I know I shouldn't have left it in there. I'm hoping the bag and maybe some of its contents may have been discarded and wondered if any walkers saw it maybe they would get in touch.
"I've cancelled all my cards and applied for a new driving license, the main thing I have lost are pictures of my daughters when they were younger, the pictures are of great sentimental value.
"It's horrible to think someone else has your belongings but I would like to thank the Sidmouth community for all the support and helpful suggestions."
The missing handbag is a Cath Kidston grey, Garden Rose Heywood, cross body bag and the purse, made by Bailey & Quinn, is rose coloured.
If you have any information on the incident or if you have recovered any of the missing items, please contact the police on 101, quoting crime reference number: CR/074635/19.
