The Hotel Riviera, a Grade II listed Regency building on Sidmouth Esplanade, is now for sale for a guide price of £3.5m.

It is currently being marketed by estate agency Knight Frank as a freehold with vacant possession.

Described as a 'superb opportunity' and 'highly profitable', the four-star hotel offers 26 bedrooms with a potential to create 15 more (subject to planning permission), according to the estate agents. Each bedroom has its own en-suite bathroom.

It also has a restaurant, lounge, and a Regency bar and function suite.

The hotel's annual net revenue for the year ending April 2022 was reportedly around £2m. There is also a management team already in place.

Stays at the hotel currently cost from £118 to £292 per person per day, depending on room, board, and date of visit, according to its website.

The building was first built in around 1820, and was once a terrace of three-storey houses called Marine Place.
