How a membership can save you as much as 50% at Sidmouth Leisure Centre and Swimming Pool
"Alright, my love - thank you!" Julie said, waving goodbye to a customer.
"It's very friendly here, people love coming in and they have a good natter with me at the desk."
Julie Symondson is LED Leisure's Membership Advisor - and she told Nub News all about how local people can save money by getting a membership.
There's also an exclusive special offer this month. If you sign up now, you'll only pay a joining fee of £5 and nothing for January.
'All In' membership
Julie said: "The All In covers everything: swimming, the gym, and classes. In Sidmouth you've got squash courts, a studio for group classes, the main hall for badminton, and lots of other clubs and activities like five-a-side football and fencing.
"A swim costs £5.50, the gym is £7.50 and fitness classes are £7.20. If you did one swim, one gym and one class a week for a month you'd be saving 50% with this membership."
How much is it?
£39.75/month on rolling contract – cancel anytime; or £397.50/year (12 months for the price of 10!)
'Core' membership
Julie said: "Core will save you £5 off the monthly fee. It's two of the three: gym and swim, gym and classes, or classes and swim.
"An exercise class is £7.20 - so you don't need many of those to be quids-in on the membership!
How much is it?
£34.75/month on rolling contract – cancel anytime.
Aqua membership
An Aqua membership gives you access to the pool. Julie said: "At £5.50 a swim, if you're coming 10 times a month you'll be saving 46% with a membership.
"Once you're coming more than six times a month, you'll be saving money - and some people come every day, or 20 times a month. Adults can even have a swimming lesson.
"It's not just exercise, it's very social. People who are swimming here several times a week all know each other, and they sit and have a chat and people make friends.
"Swimming is also very good exercise for anybody with aches and pains."
How much is it?
£29.75/month on rolling contract – cancel anytime; or £297.50/year (12 months for the price of 10!)
Kids' Swim School and new 'Get Active' memberships
Julie said: "The swim school for children is really popular - again they've got the special January offer - and that includes a free swimming lesson.
"They're normally six children to a class. The swim school membership also includes unlimited activities, and junior sports up at the leisure centre (next to Sidmouth College).
"The new Get Active memberships for kids have just got cheaper, and that's for any children under 16 who don't want swimming lessons but can still use the pool, as well as the gym, and outdoor facilities. A swim is £3, the gym is £4.50, sports are around £3-6. If you did one swim, one gym and a couple sessions of table tennis a month you'd be saving 33% with this membership.
"You can also train in the gym with your son or daughter – any 11-15-year-old can use the gym with a responsible adult over the age of 18 at any time."
How much?
Swim School: £29.75/month on rolling contract – cancel anytime; 10% sibling discount!
Get Active: £24.75/month on rolling contract – cancel anytime; or £247.50/year (12 months for the price of 10!)
Support your local leisure centre
Julie added: "At Coburg Fields near Sidmouth Parish Church, you can use the putting green, bowling green, and hard tennis courts – and if you're a member here, you can use the facilities across East Devon, in Exmouth, Seaton, Axminster, and Honiton.
"We're a charity, and we'd love residents to support their local pool and leisure centre. Any money people spend goes back into the business."
You can sign up for a membership online or at reception – join today and pay just £5 in joining fees and get January free.
