County councillor for Sidmouth Stuart Hughes is seeking to put together complaint emails about bus company Stagecoach's reduced Sidmouth and Sidbury services for an upcoming public inquiry.

He has asked members of the public to email him with their views by 30 September ahead of the enquiry on 27 October.

Cllr Hughes (Conservative, Sidmouth) said: "Stagecoach Devon has been called by the Traffic Commissioner to a public inquiry on 27 October and Devon County Council's cabinet member for transport along with the head of our transport coordination service, will be attending the inquiry in person as witnesses.

"As part of this process, Devon County Council have received a directive to provide evidence to the Traffic Commissioner as follows:

"Provide to the Office of the Traffic Commissioner in Bristol a schedule of all complaints received by the Council in relation to registered bus services within the Exeter area;

"The County Council are going to include correspondence relating to ALL of services operating in our Council area regarding Stagecoach services, not just the Exeter area.

"Therefore, I am collating all the emails etc that I have received and replied to about the reduced Sidmouth and Sidbury services. I would welcome any representations that other Sidmouth members of the town and district councils have received to enable the County Council representatives at the inquiry to make our views known and present the case for the services to hopefully be reinstated.

"Email me on [email protected] and If you haven't sent me any representations… It's not too late there's still time to put pen to paper …fingers to the keyboard and I look forward to hearing from you by 30 September."
