A new film being shot in the Sidmouth area will feature local talent both on and off the screen.

Two London based production companies, Fable Films and Becklow Films, will descend on a manor house near Sidbury at the beginning of November to start shooting a short film, 'set in the world of fossil hunting'.

The film, which has not been given a name yet, is set in the early nineteenth century and follows two children.

Local actors and film crews will be used in the film, as project coordinator Terhi Kylliainen explained: "We've had a really good response from locals, we've been in touch with a number of local theatre companies, it seems East Devon is a very active area for theatrics.

"It's very exciting to find all of this local talent. We actually found the perfect location in Sidbury, the film's set in a manor house and we found a great one there.

"We plan to have the film finished in May and later that year it will feature at film festivals and science festivals."

Around 10 local actors will be involved and Terhi confirmed that local film crews will also be used.

Filming will begin in early November.
