Local elections 2023: Sidmouth results released
The results of the 2023 local elections have now been released.
The newly elected councillors for East Devon District Council and Sidmouth Town Council are confirmed below, together with the number of votes for each candidate who stood.
East Devon District Council
Sidmouth Rural (one councillor elected)

- Christina Richards (Conservative): 217
Sidmouth Sidford (three councillors elected)
- Marianne Rixson (Liberal Democrats): 1256 - GAIN FROM IND
- Stuart Hughes (Conservative): 1216 - HOLD
- Mike Goodman (Conservative): 1191 - GAIN FROM IND
- Lisa Garner (Liberal Democrats): 1119
Sidmouth Town (two councillors elected)
- Ian Barlow (Independent): 994 - HOLD
- Sophie Richards (Conservative): 811 - GAIN FROM IND
- Denise Bickley (Independent): 785
- John Zarczynski (Conservative): 406

Sidmouth East (none elected as no candidates nominated)
