A brand-new business called Sidmouth Craft Hub hopes to open in Sidmouth this spring.

Currently in the process of buying the Sidmouth Fabrics and Haberdashery premises on Mill Street, the shop expects to open its doors either in late April or early May.

The founder of Sidmouth Craft Hub, Felicity Carver, told Nub News that she intends to have a variety of items for sale - and that classes will also be on offer.

She said: "I'll be selling a lot of haberdashery and wools, but I'll also be selling a lot of other crafting materials like modelling clays, lots of different craft papers and cards, resins, lino printing kits, quilling papers and tools, different glass for glass art. A whole variety of different things.

"On the left hand side of the shop will be a dedicated craft studio area.

"We are building a timetable of tutor-led craft classes, up to about 30 different crafts. These will be about two to two-and-a-half hours in length, morning and afternoon.

"During term-time, we're going to be having an after school craft club for seven- to 11-year-olds. That'll be from four to 5pm - just an hour.

"I'm also going to do kids' craft classes in half terms and in the holidays.

"I'm hoping it will be a welcome addition to what Sidmouth offers, and I plan on it being a welcoming, fun and creative place to be."
