A new community 'food forest' is currently being developed on council land in Byes Lane in Sidford.

A group of volunteers, led by Stefan Drew and Tess Bisson, have taken on the initiative to involve local people in utilising the food production potential of small woodlands.

The green space, owned by East Devon District Council, had previously been looked after by The Byes Pre-School before its closure in 2022.

The council Streetscene team have facilitated the transition and will reportedly continue to help the group.

The volunteers will meet weekly. You can follow Sidmouth Community Food Forest on Facebook to keep up with their progress.
