Ye Olde Toll House, a single-storey thatched building in Newton Poppleford, has been put up for auction for a guide price of £70k-£80k.

Described as a "charming detached thatched toll house for updating", it is believed to date back to 1758 and is around two metres high.

It has an entrance porch, living room with open attic space, kitchen, shower room and bedroom and rear paving to a log store.

A spokesperson for Clive Emson Auctioneers said: "The property is likely to be of interest to a home owner or those looking for a lock-up and leave bolt hole. It could also be of interest to investment purchasers."

It is being marketed as a freehold with vacant possession.
