One of Sidmouth's oldest properties has now been completely renovated.
The Old Toll House, a Grade II listed property, dates back to the early 1800s and was once used to control access to the eastern approach to the town. The toll gate was removed during the Second World War, and now hangs alongside.
The renovation work, including the installation of a new kitchen, was carried out by East Devon District Council contractor Ian Williams.
The toll house, pictured, is one storey high and is stuccoed on the outside. Its architecture is of the 'Greek Revival' style, and it has a portico with Doric columns, pediment, and octagonal chimneys.
Councillor John Loudoun (Independent, Sidmouth Rural Ward) said: "The property has undergone a full, much needed renovation, which included restoration works, redecoration and a new kitchen."
The building can be found at the beginning of the Byes riverside walk next to Waterloo Bridge here.
