Ottery St Mary fire engines attend vehicle alight in West Hill

Fire engines from Ottery St Mary and Exmouth were tasked to extinguish a vehicle on fire on West Hill Road in West Hill near Ottery St Mary.

The incident occurred yesterday evening (June 28) just after 7pm.

A spokesperson for Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue said: "Fire engines were quickly mobilised and soon arrived on scene, confirming vehicle well alight.

"Fire crews got to work using one hose reel jet and two breathing apparatus to extinguish the fire.

"The vehicle was damaged by the fire; the cause of the fire was accidental."
