The Donkey Sanctuary in Sidmouth has been given approval to build two new shelters for its parking attendants.

A planning application to build two shelters was submitted to the local planning authority, East Devon District Council, at the beginning of January.

On Monday, February 24, council officers approved the plans. Visitor Engagement Manager at The Donkey Sanctuary, John Crouch, said: "We are delighted to be able to provide shelters for our car-park attendants, offering shelter from the rain and providing welcome shade from the hot sunshine during the summer months.

"The new shelters show that we provide the best care for our staff as well as our donkeys."

The small buildings will measure 1m by 1m and will be 2.5m tall with a pitched roof. They will have painted timber walls and a timber shingle roof.
