Person taken to hospital after suspected hit-and-run in Ottery St Mary

A person was taken to hospital with serious injuries after being hit by a vehicle in a suspected hit-and-run on Cadhay Lane in Ottery St Mary on Thursday (19 January).

Police were called to the scene at around 11.30am and remain in the area at the time of writing.

A Devon and Cornwall Police spokesperson said: "Police were called to reports of an injured person on Cadhay Lane, Ottery St Mary, at about 11.30am on Thursday (19 January).

"Emergency services also attended and a local road closure was put in place.

"The person was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

"This is currently treated as a suspected hit-and-run collision.

"Officers remain in the area making enquiries."
