A renewal of outline planning permission is currently being sought for seven new houses on land off Manstone Avenue in Sidmouth.

Permission was previously given in July 2020, but "issues caused by mainly Covid but in part Brexit" meant there was not enough time to progress with the project, according to the planning documents.

Because the plans are outline only, details of what the houses will look like and how big they will be will have to be approved in another application before any construction.

Wool Brook is located to the west of the site, which has several dilapidated timber buildings with corrugated iron roofs and an old block-built storage building with a corrugated asbestos roof.

Access to the new properties would be via the existing entrance to the site, but with the hedge to the east lowered for better visibility.

The application is currently awaiting a decision from East Devon District Council.
