Sidmouth Annual Town Assembly to take place tonight

By The Editor 14th Jan 2022

Sidmouth's Annual Town Assembly is taking place tonight (April 15) and the whole town is invited.

This is a meeting of the Sidmouth electorate, on Monday, April 15, at 7pm at St Francis Hall, Woolbrook, Sidmouth.

The meeting provides an opportunity for any town matters to be raised and discussed in an open forum.

There will be reports from Sidmouth Police, councillor Paul Wright – member with special responsibility for finance, councillor Simon Pollentine – chairman of tourism and economy and the Sid Valley Neighbourhood Plan Steering Group.

Electors can also raise general issues and ask questions regarding the work of the town council. Questions notified prior to the meeting will be given priority.

There will also be short presentations from organisations allocated grant money by the town council in this year's budget.

Norma Self and Lesley Thomas will give a presentation on Sidmouth and East Devon Walking Festival, Louise Cole will give a presentation on the Sidmouth Coastal Community Hub and Monica Matthews will present on behalf of Sidmouth's Friends of the Byes.

It is hoped that as many electors and residents as possible will take this opportunity to raise matters which are important to them and to the future of Sidmouth.
