Residents and staff of a care home in Sidmouth were recently treated to ice creams by local care provider Doveleigh Care. The ice cream van visited Arcot House in Sidmouth and also went to Doveleigh Care's other two care homes in the local area: Dove Court in Seaton and Doveridge in Colyton. The cold treat was perfect on what proved to be a warm day, and there were smiles all round.

Sam Evens, the Quality Assurance Manager for Doveleigh Care said: "We regularly organise activities that our residents have expressed an interest in. As many are unable to get out to the ice cream van, we thought that we would bring one to them as a special treat. "

One of the residents, Margaret, said: "What a lovely surprise on a hot day. It's been a long time since I had an ice cream from an ice cream van."

Doveleigh Care is a residential care home company based in East Devon. Each of its three care homes are rated 'Outstanding' by the Care Quality Commission and it has won numerous awards in recent years, including 'National Care Home Group of the Year' in 2017. It has also been rated one of the top care 20 home providers in the whole country by website carehome.co.uk for six years in a row.
