Residents at Doveleigh Care's Sidmouth care home, Arcot House, enjoyed watching Wimbledon recently, which finished last weekend on 10 July. Staff also made the men's final on Sunday extra special with strawberries, cream and homemade Pimm's, complete with cucumber and mint.

Serbia's Novak Djokovic won the tournament – and was also Arcot House residents' favourite to win due to Australia's Nick Kyrgios' run-ins with the umpire!

Speaking to residents, staff member Trevor Hunt said: "Many residents enjoy watching sport on the TV.

"Val said it always takes her back to when she was younger and enjoyed it so much, she would often forget to cook supper. Carole said it was lovely seeing Cliff Richard come back out on court singing. Joyce said she really enjoyed playing tennis when she was at school, and Mary said she used to play and her daughter, Cathy, who is 81 this year, and still plays today!

"Staff at Arcot House will always help residents to watch what they wish on the TV and help make it a special event. They said they were looking forward to watching the Women's Euro football over the coming weeks."
