Sidmouth Christmas lights switch-on set to take place

Sidmouth's annual Christmas lights switch-on is set to take place later this month.

The display will be illuminated on Saturday 19 November by Sidmouth College Head Boy Jacob Green and Head Girl Harriet Marshall.

Chair of Sidmouth Town Council Cllr Chris Lockyear said: "This year, it is entirely fitting that Sidmouth College receives some well deserved praise on their exam results."

Local duo Vine and Dandy will provide music and entertainment from 4.30pm on the day.

The annual draw for the 'Golden Ticket' which will take place at 5.15pm. This is a chance for local primary school children, who will have received a ticket at school, to win a £100 toy voucher donated by Gliddon's Toy Shop on Church Street.

The lights will then be switched on at 5.30pm.

The Christmas light display is funded by Sidmouth Town Council, supported by Sidmouth Chamber of Commerce.
