A classic car show due to take place this Saturday (17 September) will go ahead, Sidmouth Chamber of Commerce has confirmed.

The event will reportedly be conducted "in a respectful way", and a minute's silence for Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II will be held.

A spokesperson said: "After careful consideration and in line with official government guidance and protocols, we have decided that the Sidmouth Classic Car Show will still go ahead (subject to the weather).

"We will be conducting the event in a respectful way, holding a minute's silence at 1pm in tribute to HM Queen Elizabeth II."

The show will be held by Sidmouth Chamber of Commerce in partnership with the Crash Box & Classic Car Club of Devon.

It will see 300 cars displayed at Sidmouth Cricket Club from 11am to 4.30pm, and feature live music and refreshments.

Entry is free but donations are welcome.
