Voters will have a further chance to request an election in the Salcombe Regis Ward of Sidmouth Town Council following the resignation of David Barratt this week for personal reasons.

David Barratt has served on Sidmouth Town Council since 2010 including as Vice Chair of the Planning Committee. He also served on East Devon District Council up until the 2019 election.

Chair of Sidmouth Town Council, Councillor Ian Barlow recommended: "As fellow ward Member for Salcombe Regis, David worked hard for his electors and would always try and help where he could whether that was at town or District Level. He will very much be missed."

Any ten electors for the electoral area may give notice requesting that an election should be held to

fill such vacancy.

Such a request must be signed and sent to the Returning Officer at East Devon District Council, Blackdown House, Border Road, Heathpark Industrial Estate, Honiton, EX14 1EJ or sent electronically which must include a scan of the electors signature to [email protected] by midnight on 1 September 2020.
