A new campaign to encourage cycling in the Sid Valley has launched with an anonymous public survey.

The Sidmouth Cycling Campaign, a new group coming out of the Vision Group for Sidmouth, seeks to bring together "local people with experience and enthusiasm" to take cycling issues forward and promote cycling "as a way of cutting back on using the car and doing our bit to help the environment."

It also said that it hopes to work with local authorities.

The questionnaire features nine questions including "What type of bike do you ride?", "On average, how far do you cycle in a week?", and "Do you feel safe cycling in the Sid Valley?".

You can access the questionnaire online here or else find paper copies at Sidmouth Library and Sidmouth Tourist Information Centre. The closing date for responses is 31 December.

All the results will reportedly be anonymous and will be published early next year.

You can also email the group at [email protected].
