Sidmouth fire crew attend car blaze in Sidford

Sidmouth Fire Station were tasked to a car which was fully alight, with the fire spreading to the hedgerow on the side of the road.

The incident happened on Two Bridges Road in Sidford yesterday (Sunday) just before 6pm.

In a statement Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue said: "One appliance from Sidmouth was mobilised following reports to the Fire Service Control of a vehicle on fire.

"On arrival at the location crew confirmed the vehicle was well alight and got to work to extinguish.

"One Ford Focus was involved in fire which had spread to the hedgerow.

"Crews used two breathing apparatus and two hose reels to extinguish the fire."
