Sidmouth fire crews called to extinguish bonfires in Branscombe

Two fire engines from Sidmouth were required to extinguish two large bonfires in Branscombe this afternoon (Sat).

A spokesperson from Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue said:

"One fire engine from Sidmouth was mobilised to a fire in the open in Branscombe this afternoon.

"On arrival the crews requested a further fire engine from Sidmouth to attend for additional water.

"Fire crews confirmed there were two large bonfires which were extinguished using Low Pressure Hose Reels to prevent escalation of the fire."
