Sidmouth firefighters helped come to the rescue when a ride-on lawnmower - and its driver – fell 15 feet over a bank.

The accident happened in Vineycroft Lane in Salcombe Regis at 4pm yesterday (Wednesday, June 16).

Fire crews from Ottery St Mary and Colyton also attended.

The firefighters used lines and ropes to lift the casualty back up the bank on a stretcher, and they were left in the care of ambulance paramedics. No details have been released of their injuries.
