Sidmouth: Firefighters put out freezer fire in Beer

Firefighters put out a fire in a pub freezer in Beer on Tuesday (6 March).
Crews from Sidmouth, Seaton, Colyton and Danes Castle in Exeter were called out at 1.40pm to a pub on Fore Street in the village.
Once crews from Seaton arrived, they found that there was a small amount of smoke coming from a freezer and confirmed that no other fire engines were needed.
They put out the blaze, which was reportedly accidental, using one bucket of water after taking the freezer outside.
A Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "Fire control received a call from a pub on Fore Street in Beer reporting a fire within the kitchen of the pub.
"Control mobilised three fire appliances from Seaton, Sidmouth and Colyton, one aerial ladder platform from Danes Castle and a supporting officer.
"Once crews from Seaton arrived on scene, they confirmed no further appliances required due to small amounts of smoke issuing from a freezer and crews were making efforts to remove the freezer to open air.
"Crews confirmed the fire was only confined to a freezer situated in a pub freezer that was removed to open air and fire extinguished using one chimney bucket of water. Crews confirmed this fire was accidental."
