Gas pipe works are set to begin in the Burnt Oak area of Sidbury next week.

Energy company Wales & West Utilities will begin the £100k works on Monday 17 October and aims to finish by the end of November "barring any engineering difficulties". Rolling traffic lights will be in place as works progress.

The A375 Chapel Street may also be closed between 7-11 November, but the company has said that "this won't be known until the work starts and the engineering requirements are known."

Wales & West Utilities spokesperson Travis Wheatle said: "This work is essential to keep the gas flowing to local homes and businesses today, and to make sure the gas network is ready to transport hydrogen and biomethane, so we can all play our part in a green future.

"We will work as safely and as quickly as possible to finish the work, whilst keeping inconvenience to a minimum for local people and road users."

The company is inviting people to get in touch if they have questions on 0800 912 2999, social media or at [email protected].
